At Neighborhood Bible Church we value
Worship
"How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!" Psalm 147:1
We gather each week to express our praise and thanksgiving to God in a way that is both meaningful, understandable and reverent.
We acknowledge the Bible as the highest written standard for guidance of our words, thoughts, and deeds, as the study of Gods word is an act of worship.
We pray constantly as individuals and as a congregation, as communication with God is an act of worship.
We strive to give freely of ourselves and our resources, as sacrificial giving is an act of worship.
Salvation
"there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 15:10
We respect that there is a process that leads a person to salvation and then onto spiritual maturity and are patience to see the process completed in the lives of others.
We pray and labor so that people who do not know Jesus will come to accept him as Lord and Savior.
We desire to remove any barriers that would confuse the clarity of God’s simple offer of salvation to those we have contact with.
We participate, celebrate and rejoice in the new-birth growth of any bible based Church in our community or around the world.
Relationships
"If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up." Ecclesiastes 4:10
We build meaningful, authentic friendships with each other and with people outside of the church.
We all know what we need to know about what is going on in our church.
We each recognize our own ability to sin and expect our fellow members to challenge us to live sinless, blameless lives.
We feel free to laugh and enjoy good times together because we know that we have freedom in Christ.
We cooperate with all other communities of Christians and especially with those who are like-minded and enjoy building the Kingdom.

Families
"One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts."
Psalm 145:3
We support the premise that parents first have a ministry to their families, and we expect members to balance their commitment to church activities with the needs of their families.
We provide programs, projects and opportunities which allow children to be fully involved in the life of the church.
We model our beliefs, our faith and also our commitment to becoming a fully devoted followers of Christ to our children.
Tolerance
"Then neither do I condemn you,' Jesus declared. 'Go now and leave your life of sin.' "
John 8:11
We want people to feel comfortable when they enter our church and when they participate in our ministries.
We accept everyone who visits our church that is forgiven by God, regardless of their past actions.
We expect excellence in all that we do, but we accept that people make mistakes and willingly forgive them.
Involvement / Integration
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." 1 Corinthians 12:27
We hold the highest of expectations for our leaders and believe that God works through their leadership.
We believe that every member has a significant contribution to make to the ministries of Neighborhood Bible Church.
We expect each member to use their spiritual gifts for the benefit of others in the body of Christ.
We are empowered by the Holy Spirit: to use our gifts, be good stewards of our resources, and to encourage others in fellowship.
We allow all to become as involved as they wish to be, but understand that maturing believers involve themselves in the life of the church. |
